Similarweb traffic for your project

Extcorp offers a Similarweb traffic service with scope and terms reviewed for each project. You can ask about a test without preparing a detailed campaign brief.

Website and report

A domain or report name can help explain the task. Share them when useful, not as a condition of the first message.

From inquiry to an individual offer

  1. Send your question. The form preselects the Similarweb service.
  2. Discuss the context. Add project details when they help explain the goal.
  3. Confirm the next step. Offer or test availability, scope and terms are assessed for your project. An inquiry is not a booking.

Before ordering, check which conditions to confirm.

Why is Similarweb not showing a traffic estimate?

An unavailable estimate is not a zero-traffic measurement. Similarweb may withhold figures when the available data is insufficient for a reliable estimate. This does not establish what your site’s own analytics would show.

If this prompted your inquiry, mention it. Buying traffic is not a guaranteed way to make a report appear or reach a particular figure.

For website owners: Similarweb also documents an option to connect Google Analytics and show verified sessions. A public connection can disclose those figures to other people. Consider that before connecting an account; this is separate from buying a traffic service.

What makes a traffic figure useful?

Keep the metric and its context together. These details help explain a question; they are not promised campaign settings.

  • MEASURE

Choose the Similarweb measure you mean

A visit count, an audience estimate and a percentage answer different questions. Keep the displayed label and unit with the figure you want to discuss.

What to save with a Similarweb traffic measure
MeasureWhat to keep with it
VisitsThe visit metric, selected website and reporting period
Unique visitorsThe full audience metric, device coverage and daily or monthly view
Traffic share (%)What the percentage is a share of, including the selected comparison set
Direct or ReferralThe channel label and whether its figure is a visit estimate or a share

Similarweb’s combined desktop and mobile-web unique visitors are not deduplicated across those devices. Keep that coverage when interpreting an audience figure. See Similarweb’s unique-visitor definition. Direct and Referral are report categories; their presence alone does not establish how an Extcorp campaign would be delivered.

What is traffic share a share of?

The denominator changes with the Similarweb Traffic Share view
ViewTraffic being countedDivided by
WebsiteTraffic to the selected siteTraffic to the selected competitive set
Marketing channelTraffic from that channelAll traffic to the site
KeywordTraffic from that keywordAll search traffic to the site

These are the denominators in Similarweb’s Traffic Share definition. Keep the chosen view, competitive set and filters with the percentage.

Arithmetic example: 10 visits out of 100 are a 10% share. The same 10 out of 50 are a 20% share. A larger percentage can therefore accompany an unchanged visit count.

How Similarweb calculates bounce rate

For the whole-site measure, Similarweb divides single-page visits by total visits for the selected period, then multiplies by 100. Interpret the figure against the site’s purpose; a reader may find the answer they need on one information page. See Similarweb’s Bounce Rate definition.

Hypothetical calculation: 80 single-page visits ÷ 200 total visits × 100 = 40%. This describes that measure and period. It supplies neither a conversion-quality assessment nor a universal target. Apply this formula to the Similarweb whole-site measure only.

Keep the report settings with the figure

Hypothetical saved record for example.com:

  • Traffic & Engagement; Total Visits; August 1 to 31, 2026.
  • Worldwide; Desktop; subdomains included; Absolute view; monthly granularity.
  • Captured September 10, 2026; displayed value: Not enough data.

If a later capture uses All traffic and excludes subdomains, it covers a different slice. Restore the earlier settings before comparing. With no available starting value, a percentage increase cannot be calculated.

Similarweb documents the device, country, subdomain and display controls in Traffic & Engagement. Save only the settings available in the report you use, including the capture date. The traffic report record provides space for both observations and can help explain a Similarweb Traffic inquiry.

What Direct and Referral mean in Similarweb

Direct and Referral describe how Similarweb classifies incoming traffic. Use the channel definition to read the report before choosing a campaign measure.

Direct and Referral traffic in Similarweb
ChannelMeaning in the report
DirectVisits through a typed address, bookmark or saved link.
ReferralVisits from links on other websites, including affiliate links, content partners and news coverage.

These definitions come from Similarweb’s guidance on Direct Traffic and Incoming Traffic. Its methodology FAQ also places clicks from a browser-extension link to a website in Direct.

A Direct total cannot tell you which visits came from a particular supplier. It also does not establish brand loyalty, lead quality or the effect of one campaign. Those questions need evidence beyond the channel label.

Where the traffic estimates come from

Similarweb combines four input families: analytics shared directly by websites, data from its network of consumer products, partner data and publicly available web data. Predictive models combine and calibrate those inputs to produce estimates. The result is not a complete log of every event on the selected website. See Similarweb’s data methodology.

Direct Measurement, a way of obtaining source data, is different from the Direct Traffic channel. Sharing analytics with Similarweb does not mean that every visit in those analytics belongs to Direct.

Assessing the error for your domain would need independent comparison data. Similarweb’s methodology FAQ ties new-site coverage to sufficient and diverse traffic without stating a universal visit threshold. For a missing estimate, use the data-availability checks; for differing figures, compare the saved report settings before drawing a conclusion.

To discuss Similarweb traffic for your site, start with your question. You can add the report or website later.

What to confirm before ordering

If you receive an offer, ask what it covers, how the work would be done and what evidence might be available to check the agreed conditions. Extcorp assesses offer and test availability separately for each project.

Hypothetical example: you request traffic from Germany for a set period, with a report containing the dates and visit count. The reply agrees to the period and report contents. It leaves the country unanswered.

A partial offer in this hypothetical example
Requested conditionReply in this exampleDecision or later check
Traffic from GermanyNo answerIf Germany is essential, resolve this before ordering. You still do not know whether the offer covers the country you need.
Requested periodConfirmed in writingThe dates are agreed. Checking delivery during those dates still requires relevant evidence.
Report with dates and visit countThose contents confirmedIf supplied, check that it contains the agreed information. This checks the promised report contents only; it does not verify the other delivery conditions.

Ask who could provide evidence for the delivery conditions and which period it would cover. If evidence for a condition is unavailable, decide before ordering whether you can accept leaving it unverified.
